When are your shooting hours?
My typical schedule is Tue/Fri/Sat/Sun, though arrangements can be made if none of those days are convenient. Being that I'm a natural light headshot photographer, my hours are daytime. I live and breathe by the sun.
Where do you shoot?
I shoot out of my home, at circa Kedzie and Wilson, in Albany Park. I live near the Lawrence bus, and steps from the Kedzie Brown Line. Lots of natural light floods in each morning, and starts my day off right. My space is clean, welcoming, and always cozy. The pictures actually take place in my back stairwell, on the second floor.
What should I bring?
In regards to clothing, I often suggest that my clients bring as much as they can muster. Having more options to choose from is always best. That being said, choosing clothing items with texture, and tones that match/compliment your eyes and skin, are a big plus. Pure white tends to be unflattering, and pure black tends to make you look like a floating head. Just sayin'.
Is there anything I need to do to prep?
Sleep. Get a good night's sleep the night before. Taking headshots can be a surprisingly tiring process. The more energy you bring to the camera, the better your pictures will look. And drink some water, why don't you? You don't drink enough as it is.
Do you have recommendations for reprinting?
There are a couple really great reproduction houses in Chicago, and they are:
